Pre Season Altitude Training Camp

The altitude training camp in Switzerland, has the same concept as in Spain. That is to train all riders, drivers and athletes, to achieve their physical peak. This is achieved by working to a structured programme which incorporates: speed, skill, stamina, strength and flexibility.

The area that we use in Switzerland, ranges in height from 4000ft to 10000ft (1200m to 3000m). So it is ideal for training. The reasons behind altitude training is that for every 2500ft above sea level the oxygen content in the blood is reduced by 4%. Therefore having trained at altitude, then returned to normal training environments, the increase in performance is phenomenal.

The altitude training consists of:

"Race Care is vital to driver performance at all levels, in my view its worth 2/10ths a lap. Formula Fitness provided an excellent service to my drivers".
