Walker wins at Donington to show his true potential

James Walker won the World Series by Renault race at Donington Park at the weekend (9th September 2007), in fantastic style after starting the 45-minute race from pole position and driving the race of his life en route to the best result of his career.

“Crossing the line to rapturous applause from the capacity British crowd is a dream come true,” said James when he came down from the podium.

“What a result! The World Series is new to me this year and also to Fortec. We are learning together and have made steady progress through the year. So far we haven’t had the luck but we had it today! To bounce back from a poor result in qualifying and win the race is just incredible. It was ironic that I had my first bad start of the year though! I’m especially happy to win here in Donington at my home race.

James is trained by Stewart Wild the Human Performance Director at Formula Fitness's Oxford based facility.

“James has worked extremely hard both in the gym and with our Sports Psychologist Anne Calleja over the past 18 months. He is a true professional and we are all very proud, we know things will only get better for him, says Stewart.

James’ win, caps off two other wins this season in RWS by drivers that work with Formula Fitness, in Salvador Duran and Fairuz Fauzy.
